"WHAT YOU HEAR"

I thank the Lord God almighty for the opportunity towrite this and for the wisdom he bestowed upon me. The topic before me is "WHAT YOU HEAR". The bible says Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. The heart itself is internal, something has to go in , be processsed before another thing goes out(extenal).Hence, every action that you perform outside is by virtue of what you have let into your mind or heart through the passages: your mouth, your EAR and your eye. But most importantly today we will be dealing with the ear,as regards to how it affects, your actions and your life as a whole.
Furthermore, it is not news or new, that your ear is what you use  to hear "instructions" either consciously or unconsciously. And instructions go a long way in shapening our lives as Christians(Believers) or as humans, and it will be detrimental not to follow them,no wonder the Bible says in Prov 1:7  "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. The Bible goes further to say,he shall die without instuction(prov  5:23),  yes but the kind of instructions being made reference to here are Godly instructions, inspired only by him(God) alone.
However , this note is going to be focusing on unconscious instructions that we give ourselves and how injurious they can be to our lives. Majoryly, when i was thinking of this write -up,the major theme that flooded my head was music,a very powerful tool that can be manipulated to serve different purposes and also used to serve Good purposes. As we approach the last minutes, the Devil has flooded the atmosphere of this generation with lust and one of the ways he has used to propagate and groom this seed is through Music. The list continues, but we are going to be discussing them as we go along. This is not new because it had been foretold

"  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;   Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 TIM 3 : 1-7 (KJV)"

What you devote your ear- time to,affects your life  more than you can ever imagine, hence if you devote it to things that are not edifiable, you leave yourself in a tightcorner with little or nothing to be done to help you. When I get to discuss with young believers like me, and the reasons they give(i once gave ) for listening  them("MUSIC"),it sounds reasonable in the world we live in, but it sounds foolish when it comes to the House he has gone to prepare for us(john 14). "I listen to it,just for listening sake" that might have been your thought but they go farther than that, this things get stuck in your mind, become visually reproduced in your minds when you sing those lyrics, you understand why it is "good" ,then the issues of your life are unconsciously or consciously dragged towards that direction.
Furthermore, let us go a bit more practical here, A brother in church is struggling with lust, and what he listens to  talks about sex,"booty",kiss...the inexhaustible list of terms associated with lustful desires. When he is in a situation, what will come to his head is  not the bible but those lyrics, it will "ginger" him up to continue and this things come along with spirits. As a christian, you understand that the more you are conscious of yourself, the less conscious you are about God.You have to kill self,  and make yourself totally yeilded to him to enjoy a smooth ride with God. And what you listen to everyday talks about how much you can acquire, spending the money, flexing and enjoying, that you are better than the other person etc.. all these are vanity Upon vanity and they are grossly unscriptural, and so why occupy your hearts with such things. A heart that ought to have been renewed, why allow it buy into the old ways:like a dog going back to its vomit.
I pray you get an understanding about this message and dont just take it for granted, I will not be drawn into the arguement of whether it is a sin or not;where is it written in the bible that it is a sin, but the bible says in Philipians 4 : 8"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." what you listen to,what kind of thoughts do they evoke when you listen to them,do they fulfil any of the yardstick above?I know how uneasy it can be, the wonderful beats, sweet voices, but what so ever will hinder your heavenly race,is it worth the risk of hanging unto it, are you ready to miss this:Mat_13:43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father."...continue the passage... Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

FIRST HOLIDAY IN UNIBEN

I say a big hello to all my blog readers, let me continue my story from where i stopped. On getting to Bob Izua Park, the place was filled and passengers were much. What caught my attention more was the large luggage being carried by them, as seats were even bought for loads and they were even almost competing with humans for space.Unfortunately, a coaster bus rolled in and  the speaker blared, ticket number 9 and 10 enter the coaster bus. As i moved forward,i saw bags ranging from the smallest to the largest size available and there  was commotion as everybody wanted their bags to be in the bus. After long shouting and pleas the bags were carefully arranged at the backseat but it took over an extra seat with no body to pay for it.It delayed us for sometime, but after dropping and deliberations, the money came out and the bus took of.
While on the road,as the ambassador that i am, a case ensued and i re-instated the fact that corruption was not part of Nigeria's culture but it was met with fierce opposition by a boy(or Man) who claimed that the happenings evident in the lifestyle obtainable in Nigeria said the otherwise and that it has become normal.I tried explaining that we are supposed to be  ambassadors and that the change starts from us, but he complained that the change even if it might come is not in our generation. I answered his last observation by telling him that even if it cannot be achieved in this generation(which i don't believe), we can live a life establishing platforms that will make this nation, great as it ought to be.When he saw that convincing me to his side wouldn't be that easy,he told me that I was still young and that experiences will make me change my mind, the young man who claimed to be a graduate of engineering from the prestigious  Igbinedion University, Okada. had to let my point stay cause i wasn't ready to give in.
The journey was so interesting and educative,as it was arguments and talk all the way. People sharing their views and counter views ranging from politics to rights,Music, schools, buying of degrees, corruption in the Nigerian Universities etc. and it almost ended in a fight. When a matured girl wanted to oppress a young girl for speaking up. so funny, oppression even in the bus!. I got home that evening and entered into a quiet environment void of the hustle and bustle of ek-city. My holiday was garnished when i joined the users of  good mobile technology. My holiday was interesting though i didn't go out but my PC was my companion as everything was at my doorstep with just a click of the mouse and the pressing of my keyboard.
Surprisingly, the holiday is already coming to an end.....Alas,my travel was worth it

FIRST HOLIDAY IN UNIBEN

As a new student into one of the most sought after universties in Nigeria,my first semester was a mixture of happiness, stress, some sad moments, fun and new found freedom. From the start,it was as if it should not finish,as comfort was my nextdoor neigbhour and he allowed me free access but when it was getting to the end,it wasnt as if there was no money, but the urge to be a spendthrift became my everyday visitor. Successfully,we finished exams. The mass com students finished thiers first and it dawned on the theater Arts that they werent going home. Left to me,i thought this will make the remaining 100 level students to wait and keep them company a little. But lo and behold, immediately after exams some people started leaving school, the latest word became ''bye''.Day by day,the numbers reduced, even me that said i will stay joined the exodus, left hurriedly without even telling some friends bye.An interesting twist was the fact that our seniors in school were laughing at us that, that was aw they were and we should flex on ;its our time. As i walked out of the gate,it dawned on me,that i was not a fresher anymore but i was now in level 150,i made a review of my semester and starting makimng changes as i went. After a very funny situation at home,i got to Bob IZua park, the next morning,it was thier my holiday started.........watch out 4 the remaining
